Courses the Center offers
These are the programs Centro DTIBR runs in open classes and tailor-made for institutions. Courses are taught in Portuguese. Upcoming classes are announced on the blog and in the newsletter.
Curso de Proteção de Dados
Data Protection Course
The Center's longest-standing program, offered since 2019 in open classes and in-company for public bodies such as the TJMG (Minas Gerais State Court of Justice) and the TCM/PA (Pará State Court of Accounts for Municipalities). It covers the LGPD (Brazil's General Data Protection Law) from concepts to implementation: legal bases, data subject rights, processing of sensitive data and children's data, international transfers, sanctions and the role of the data protection officer. The focus is the compliance project in practice: how to map the organization's processes and data flows, build the data inventory and the impact assessment report, review contracts and policies, define governance, train teams, and respond to incidents and data subject requests. Participants leave with the complete roadmap of a compliance project, built on the ones the Center itself has carried out.
Curso de Segurança da Informação
Information Security Course
For those who need to understand and make decisions about security without being technical specialists. It covers threats and incidents, controls and policies, risk management, incident response and the legal duties of protection, connecting security practice to the requirements of the LGPD and of standards such as ISO 27001. It includes exercises based on real situations, such as analyzing a data breach and putting together a response plan, so that managers and lawyers know what to require, what to prioritize and how to work with the technical team.
Curso de IA para Advogados
AI for Lawyers Course
How artificial intelligence works and how to use it with sound judgment in legal practice. It starts with the fundamentals: what machine learning is, how a model is trained and evaluated, and how data analysis already supports decisions in law firms, in-house legal departments and courts. It then moves on to language models, effective prompts, limits and risks such as hallucinations and bias, and the regulation of AI in Brazil and around the world. No prior technology background is required, and the course includes live demonstrations of the tools.
Curso Agentes de IA
AI Agents Course
For those who want to go beyond chat and build workflows with AI. It shows what agents are, how they connect to tools and data, how to plan, test and supervise their work, and how to apply them safely in law firms, companies and public bodies. Hands-on: over the course, participants build an agent for a real task from their own work, such as document triage or legal research, and discuss governance, costs and accountability for the results.
Curso de Atualização em Direito e Tecnologia
Update Course in Law and Technology
An overview for those who want to catch up, all at once, on the topics that most affect the law: data protection, artificial intelligence, blockchain and cybersecurity, among others. Multidisciplinary faculty and a practical approach, with concrete cases and discussion of the regulatory challenges of each topic. It is the entry point for those who do not yet work in the field and want a solid foundation before going deeper, and also an update for those who already do and need to keep up with recent changes.
Direito para Startups
Law for Startups
The legal aspects of founding and growing an innovative company: corporate structuring, contracts, intellectual property, fundraising, data protection and regulatory compliance. Designed for founders, investors and lawyers who work with the innovation ecosystem. The classes follow a startup's life cycle, from incorporation to an investment round, with the typical documents and decisions of each stage, such as shareholders' agreements, vesting, terms of use and investor contracts.
